Multi-Factor Authentication

What is Duo?

Duo is a mobile application used to provide two-factor authentication. Two-factor authentication is used with traditional logins to provide another layer of security to ensure the identity of users. With Duo, IU Health is verifying user identities via your IU Health network credentials, as well as with something you own, like your phone. So, users will be required to enter valid credentials, as well as accepting a push notification on their mobile device. Access to resources will be granted upon successful validation of the credentials and acceptance of the mobile push notification.

For some IU Health resources, such as VPN, Virtual Desktop (VDI), Citrix, the IU Health Team Portal and Office 365, Two-Factor Authentication is required.

IU Health team members will be required to enroll their device with Duo to access these systems, resources or applications.
